Larry Bee Avant

Mr. Larry Bee Avant, age 48, of Pine Needle Rd., Sandersville, died Friday, August 21, 2009 at the University Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24th at 11:00am at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Marlon Lastinger will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ricky Jackson, Randy Kirkland, Kerry Collins, Kevin Lindsey, Mark Clark, Shannon Anderson, Thomas Smith and Ben Avant.

Larry was a native and life long resident of Washington County. He was the Owner/Operator of Avant Construction Company and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Larry was an avid Nascar race fan as well as a lover of gardening and cooking. He was a former volunteer for the Carpenters for Christ. Larry displayed a great love for his family and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Byrnes Avant, children Michelle Leigh Shaw and Tara Lynn Avant, grandchildren, Christopher Covington, Nicholas Covington, Casey Covington and Johnathon Bee Duncan, his father and mother, Horace and Elaine Avant, brothers Ken Avant and Brian Avant all of Sandersville and nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the Ken Avant residence 926 Pine Needle Rd. and will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
