Larry Walters Palmer

Memorial services for Larry Walters Palmer, age 80, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate.

Mr. Palmer was born on July 29, 1945, in Brunswick, Georgia and was raised in Oconee, Georgia. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and Twin City Country Club. He was retired from Utility Services Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Wydel Walters Palmer; and a brother, James Palmer. Larry passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Washington County Extended Care Facility.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Palmer and his wife Ashley, Derek Palmer and his wife Julie and Chris Palmer and his wife Tiffany; dearest friend, Debra Tyson; grandchildren, Peyton Palmer, Hayden Palmer, Anna Marie Videtto (Michael), Emily Palmer, Courtney Brittain (Mac), Peyton Palmer, Christian Palmer and Evan Palmer; and great grandchildren, John Cyrus Brittain and Scottie Rae Brittain.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

The Palmer family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Pruitt Hospice, Washington County ECF and caregivers Mattie Martin, Lisa Lamar, Shay Norris and Tyrus Curry Carlyle for the care provided to their family.
