Laverne Adams

Laverne M. Adams, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Wade Dawson officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMB 357, Macon, Ga. 31210 or American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Macon GA 31201.

Mrs. Adams was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late Elmo C. and Stella B. Morrison. She was preceded in death by her son, Andy Mercer, granddaughter, Cassidi Thompson and siblings, James Morrison, Robert Morrison, Marie Durden and Mattie Slade. Mrs. Adams was a former member of Stone Creek Baptist Church and is a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her husband of fifty five years, Bobby L. Adams of Sandersville, son, Gary (Debbie) Mercer of Sandersville, grandchildren, Christie (Bud) Thompson of Twiggs, Co., Johnny Paul Mercer of Gray, Jason Taft (Brenda) Gray, Shan Hobbs of Sandersville, Shayne (Connie) Woods of Sandersville, great grandchildren, Alexis Mercer of Gray, Lance (Jessica) Mercer of Dublin, Edward Dalton Anderson of Toomsboro, Cameron Thompson of Twiggs Co., Alexis Hobbs of Gray, sister, Mary Dell Fowler of Dublin, sister-in-laws, Tinsie Morrison of Adrian, GA and Mae Morrison of Swainsboro, GA and several nieces and nephews.
