Mrs. Laverne Tanner Beal, age 83, of 826 Jordan Mill Road in Sandersville died Friday, August 05, 2011 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 8th, in the Sisters Baptist Church in Sandersville. Rev. Buford Tanner and Rev. Larry Glover will officiate with burial in the Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Beal was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Willis Tanner and the late Bessie Pearl Josey Tanner. She was the wife of late Henry Clayton Beal. Mrs. Beal was a welder in a ship building crew during World War II. She was a retired seamstress with Royal Manufacturing Company and a homemaker. She was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church.
Survivors are a daughter; Frances Beal Brantley and her husband Ollan of Sandersville; a son, Clay Beal and his wife Ann of Sandersville; five grandchildren, Tammy Brantley Corbin, Timothy Beal, Jamie Beal, Melissa Pulliam and Timothy Shaw; fifteen great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Christine Dalton of Sandersville and Evelyn Love of Macon; and a brother, Buford Tanner of Eastman.
The family will be at the Beal residence, 826 Jordan Mill Road in Sandersville and will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.
