Lawdice Webb Veal

January 8, 1928 — July 25, 2017

Mrs. Lawdice Webb Veal, age 89, of New Buckeye Road, Tennille, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27 th at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker’s Grove Holiness Church in Johnson County with burial in Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville. Reverend Matt Reese and Reverend Larry Glover will officiate.  Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Veal’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Mrs. Veal was born in Johnson County, the daughter of the late Bernard W. Webb and the late Nora Bell Holton Webb.  She was a homemaker and served for many years as the bookkeeper for her families business, Washington County Machine Shop.  She attended Tucker’s Grove Church and some of her greatest passions were to cook for her family and attend to her yard.  Mrs. Veal is predeceased by her husband, Wilmer Roger Veal, son, Phil Veal, great granddaughter, Gracelyn English and her brother, Holton Webb.

Survivors include: children, Delores V. Hartley and her husband Willis of Davisboro, Tony R. Veal and his wife Jean, and Sherry Veal all of Tennille; daughter-in-law, Rhonda E. Veal also of Tennille; grandchildren, Andrea H. Howard and her husband Matt of Wrens, Jason Hartley and his wife Marisa of Davisboro, April H. Wall and her husband J.T. of Milledgeville, Travis R. Veal of Tennille, Natasha V. Helton and her husband Billy of Warthen, Josh Barefield and his wife Jenna of Tennille, Tetra V. Francis of Tennille, Micole V. English and her husband Jay of Sandersville, Kena V. Selby and her husband Justin of Tennille, and Faran V. Tanner and her husband Will of Wrightsville; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte W. Beal and Gail W. Bentley both of Wrightsville.

The family will be at Mrs. Veal’s residence on New Buckeye Road and they will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
