Lawrence "Larry" Eugene Collier

Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Eugene Collier, age 53, of 5976 Highway 242 in Sandersville died Monday evening, December 17, 2012, at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 20th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Jones and Rev. Griffin Thompson will officiate. Pallbearers will David Smith, Todd McAfee, Lee Avant, Thomas Smith, Adam Black, Greg Clanahan, Wesley Sheppard and Brad Moncus.

Mr. Collier was a native of Bibb County, Georgia, the son of the late Lawrence Edward Collier. His mother is Mary Ann Utting Collier. Mr. Collier was a heavy equipment operator for Thiele Kaolin Company. He was a former volunteer fireman with the Sandersville Fire Department and a first responder.

Survivors are: his wife, Beverly B. Collier of Sandersville; two sons, Lawrence Eric Collier and his wife Jennifer of Sandersville and Cody Jay Collier and his wife Hilary of Sandersville; five grandchildren, Abby Collier, Mady Collier, Caylee Collier, Alyssa Collier and Christian Collier; a sister, Deborah Collier of Macon; and two brothers, Mike Collier of Florida and Edward Collier of Valdosta.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday.

The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 632, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.

May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
