Lee Early Barker

Mr. Lee Early Barker, age 83 , of Harrison, GA died Thursday morning June 3 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday June 7 in the Sisters Baptist Church in Sandersville. The Rev. Bert Parker will officiate. A graveside service of committal will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday in the Macon Memorial Park in Macon.

Mr. Barker was a native of Coffee County, Alabama, the son of the late Charlie Barker and the late Cora Lou Maddox Barker. He was the manager of the Chevron Oil Company on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon for 33 years. Mr. Barker was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was predeceased by his son, Donald Eric Barker, a brother, George Hilton Barker and a sister, Odell Barker Reeves.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Katie Ware Rhodes Barker of Harrison, a son, Kenneth Lee Barker and his wife Susan of Harrison, a daughter, Brenda Dianne Barker Kilby and her husband Keith of Asheboro, NC, nine grandchildren, Eric Lee (Charis) Barker, Elizabeth Dawn Barker (Josh) Archer, Emily Grace Barker, Ellen Marie Barker, Erin Victoria Barker, Lauren Brooke Kilby (Daniel) Earnhart, Keith Edmond (Nicci) Kilby, Jr, Meagan Leigh Kilby and Lindsey Kate Kilby, three great grandchildren, Seth Lee Barker, Mikayla Barker and Kohle Kilby, a brother, Charles Henry (Roberta) Barker of Dothan, AL , and a sister Sibyl Barker (Troxel) Plummer of Sagamore Hills, OH and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that donations be made to Sisters Baptist Church, 1807 East McCarty Street, Sandersville, GA 31082.
