Leigh Thompson Johnson

Leigh Thompson-Johnson, age 49, of Milledgeville, died Monday, March 4, 2019.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Wilkinson County with burial in the Church Cemetery.  Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Gail Smith will officiate.

Leigh was born and reared in Washington County, a graduate of Washington County High School and Georgia College and State University.  She spent her working career as a social worker for the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.   Currently, Leigh was a personal care giver with Home Instead of Dublin.  She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Sandersville.  Leigh was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed camping.  Above all, family was her most cherished thing, including her animals.  She is predeceased by her father, Paul C. Thompson.

Survivors include her daughters, Alyssa Brooke Johnson and her fiancé David Haney of Gray and Morgan J. Rinck and her husband Chris of Augusta; granddaughter Addison Rinck; mother, Merlene K. Thompson of Sandersville; sisters, Vickie T. Lindsey and her husband Bruce of Dublin, Kathy T. May and her husband Ronnie of Warthen, and Lisa T. Johnson and her husband Eric of Sandersville; her significant other,  Robert “Bob” Davis of Milledgeville; nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Hoover.

The family will be at the Thompson residence on Riddleville Road in Sandersville and they will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
