Leonila Diaz

Mrs. Leonila Diaz, age 83, of Club Forest Drive, Tennille, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 7th at 2:00pm at Grace Episcopal Church in Sandersville. Rev. Carlton Shuford, Vicar of Grace Church, will officiate.

Mrs. Diaz was born in Tampa Florida, the daughter of the late Manuel Gonzalez and the late Josefina Fabregas Gonzalez. She was retired from the Dekalb County Board of Education as secretary for the Kingsley Elementary School. Mrs. Diaz also assisted her husband with their family owned business IAR Group Inc. While living in Dekalb County, Mrs. Diaz was an active member of the St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Stone Mountain where she volunteered with the church Altar Guild and the church owned Thrift Shop. Mrs. Diaz was currently a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Sandersville.

Survivors are; her husband of 65 years, Julian Diaz, Jr. of Tennille, children, Julian (Libby) Diaz III and Daniel Diaz both of Atlanta, Anita (Manny) Trujillo of Royston, Leonila (Greg) Maloney of Covington and Juan (Kelly) Diaz of Sandersville, Grandchildren, Julia Diaz, Jonathan Diaz, (Amy Diaz mother of Julia and Jonathan), Dayna (Alex Volodarsky) Diaz, Manny (Betsy) Trujillo, Jr., Miguel (Aubrey) Trujillo, Markus Trujillo, Marisa Trujillo, Elise (Johnny) Hitchcock, Leah Maloney, Eli Diaz, Lydia Diaz, and Nathan Diaz, great grandchildren, Justin Diaz, Maddux Trujillo, MacKensi Bellar and Jax Trujillo, and her siblings, Anna Sanchez of Melbourne FL., Dalia Garcia of Clearwater FL., Daniel (Carmen) Gonzalez of Lake Wales FL., and Johnny Gonzalez of Tampa, FL.

The family will be at the Diaz residence on Club Forest Drive in Tennille and they will receive friends following the memorial service in the Parish Hall of Grace Church.
