Mrs. Leslie Combes Tucker, age 76, of Macon, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Washington County with burial in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Ron Bracewell will officiate.
Mrs. Tucker was reared in Macon and attended Dudley Hughes School. She began her working career at Armstrong Ordinance Plant prior to becoming a homemaker and raising her children. Later, Mrs. Tucker worked as an Electromechanical Technician for Warner Robins Airforce Base from which she retired. She loved baking and canning and was known for her famous Chow-Chow relish. Spoiling grandchildren and great grandchildren was her favorite thing to do. Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she volunteered in the church food pantry. She is predeceased by her parents, Lester Sanford Combes and Corine Brown Combes; her daughter Pamela Dianne Miller; and siblings, Gail Combes Palmer and Douglas Stanford Combes.
Survivors include her sons, Flanders "Flan" Sterling Lewis and his wife Nekee Leia and Steven Floyd Lewis and his wife Kathleen all of Macon; her stepson Glenn Edward Tucker and his wife Sherry; son-in-law Mike Miller; her niece Amy Conkell and her husband Eric; a great nephew Eric Vincent Conkell; grandchildren, Jennifer Bryant and her husband Joey, Nathan Lewis, Melissa Miller, Heather Simmons, Carlton Tucker, Brittany Tucker; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
