Linda Page Bateman

November 7, 1941 — December 22, 2015

Mrs. Linda Kay Page Bateman, age 74, of Wrightsville died on Tuesday morning December 22, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Reverend Scott Osborne and Reverend Chad Waller will officiate.

Mrs. Bateman was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Robert Eldridge Page and the late Marie Gertrude Askew Page. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ina Jean Page Joiner and a brother, Robert Edward Page. She was a graduate of Tennille High School class of 1959. Mrs. Bateman received her Masters Degree in Special Education from Georgia College and was a special education teacher for thirty five years in the Fulton and Cobb County School Systems and the Washington and Johnson County School Systems. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Bateman was a member and former Sunday school teacher of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club.

Survivors are: her husband of fifty two years, Thomas G. Bateman, Sr. of Wrightsville; a daughter, Renee Suzette Bateman Brown and her husband Casey of Woodstock; three sons, Thomas G. “Little Tommy” Bateman, Jr. of Wrightsville, Bradley Page Bateman and his wife Kasey of Queensbury, NY, and Adam Brian Bateman and his wife Tiffany of Hammond, LA; seven grandchildren, Paul Brown, Katie Brown, Marin Bateman, Marshall Bateman, Liam Bateman, Lyla Bateman and Ellison Page Bateman; two brothers, William Page and his wife Barbara of Wrightsville and Roy Leonard Page and his wife Shirleen of Wrightsville.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 26.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
