Mrs. Linda Chandler Echols, 82, of Thomson, Georgia entered into rest on April 19, at Heritage Nursing Home in Sandersville, Georgia. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Echols. Mrs. Echols was a native of Baldwin County, Georgia but had lived in McDuffie County since 1977. She was the daughter of the late Lynwood Chandler and Dorothy Chandler. She owned and operated a daycare for many years and was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where she served as a nursery teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Echols, with whom she shared a beautiful life and
her parents, Lynwood and Dorothy Chandler. Linda is survived by her children, Allison Echols Doolittle
(Lamar), Charles Matthew Echols (Margret), and Amy Echols; her brothers, Lynwood Chandler (Kathy), of
Milledgeville, GA., and Stephen Chandler (Johanna) of Henderson, N.C.; her grandchildren, Laura Prince
(Stacey), Mary Chandler Hammonds (Rhett), Benjamin Doolittle (Anna Grace), and Marshall Echols; and
her great-grandchild, Jaxon Prince.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Linda's love for her family knew no bounds. She was a constant source of support and encouragement, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. Her warm smile brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, always striving to be a shining example of God's love and grace.
An avid gardener, Linda was known for her green thumb and her ability to make any plant thrive. She was a master gardener, and her beautiful gardens were a testament to her skill and dedication. In addition to her gardening talents, Linda was an exceptional cook. Her delicious meals were always made with love and brought her family and friends together around the table.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church, Thomson, Georgia with the Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary before the service. The pallbearers will be Benjamin Doolittle, Marshall Echols, Stacey Prince, Rhett Hammonds, Paul Chandler, Scott Chandler, Brent Chandler, Shaun James, and Nicholas Montgomery.
