Linda Cook Gladin

Linda Cook Gladin, formerly of Creekwood Court in Sandersville, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024.  A graveside memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m. in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.  Father Steve Clifton and Reverend Stan Littleton will officiate.

Linda was born on September 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Macon Cecil Cook and the late Glenis Pullen Cook.  She was reared in the Pringle community and as a teenager her family moved to Sandersville.  She graduated from Washington County High School, class of 1960.  Linda attended the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society and graduated Cum Laude, with a bachelor's degree in business.   She later received a master's degree in business from the University of Hawaii.  Following college, Linda married her high school sweetheart and love her life Bennie Ronald Gladin who predeceases her.  She and Ron lived in numerous places while he served as a Captain and Piot in the U.S. Navy.  Linda began a long illustrious career in banking, beginning with Sovereign Bank and retiring with Bank of America.  She and Ron both retired and settled into their retirement home on Tybee Island, where they relished entertaining.  They were both active members of the Episcopal Church.  In 2018 they returned home to Sandersville and continued their membership in the Grace Episcopal Church.

Linda is survived by her sister, Cheryl Cook Avant and her husband Carwin of Sandersville; nieces, Kim Weatherly Callaway and her husband David of Franklin, TN., Kelli Weatherly Haugen and her husband Rob of Flowery Branch, Anna Pilla and her husband Leo of Ellijay and Amanda Ferguson and her husband Michael of Orlando, FL.; seven great nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Gay Gladin of Ellijay.
