Mrs. Linda Mathis Yarbrough, age 60, of Davisboro, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 2:00pm at Bethany Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Brant Kennedy will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jody Mathis, Ken Holt, Allen Mathis, Clay Yarbrough, Jamie Yarbrough and Greg Marsh.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Washington County the daughter of the late J.W. Mathis and the late Louise Kitchens Mathis. She was retired from the US Postal Service and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Linda was a lover of animals and an avid horse rider, traveler and reader. She also had a great love for drawing. Linda is predeceased by her sister Carolyn Mathis Holt.
Survivors are her husband, Roy R. Yarbrough, children, Mike Sims (Margaret) of Davisboro, Shawn R. Yarbrough (Shara) of Dearing, Chris Sims (Bonnie) of Aiken SC, and Deana Swann (Glen) of Crawfordville, FL, grandchildren, Brandon Newsome, Aaron Sims, Justin Coleman, Thomas Michael Sims, Codey Swann, Margaret Lynn Sims and Kaylee Yarbrough, and brothers, Glenn Mathis (Patricia) and Wyman Mathis (Inez) all of Wrightsville.
The family will be at the Yarbrough residence on Frances Bridge Road, Davisboro and will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
