Lizzie Mae Mcdonald Dixon

June 10, 1921 — October 17, 2012

Mrs. Lizzie Mae McDonald Dixon, age 91, of Sandersville died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, October 19th, at the Ridgeland Heights Baptist Church in Sandersville. The Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Herschel Phillips, Rob Phillips, Don Helton, Jr., Dean McCaskill, Bill Giddens, Horace Daniel, Eddie Moye, and Wayne Walker.

Mrs. Dixon was a native of Glascock County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Joseph H. McDonald and the late Beulah Lamb McDonald; and she was the wife of the late Euree "Buck" Dixon. Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and a retired employee of the Miller’s Food Store. She was a member of the Ridgeland Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors are: her children, William W. Dixon and his wife, Margaret, of Stone Mountain, C. Joe Dixon and his wife, Peggy, of North Augusta, SC, and Debra Dixon Helton and her husband, Dean, of Sandersville; grandchildren, Mike (Cyndi) Dixon, Jimmy Dixon, John (Kristen) Dixon, Jennifer Dixon (Dwayne) Rudd, Brandi Helton, Heather Helton and Ashley Helton (Nic) Green; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice Tanner of Wrightsville.

The family will be at the residence of Debra and Dean Helton, 637 Laurel Drive, in Sandersville. They will receive friends on Thursday, October 18th, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the May & Smith Funeral Home.

May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
