Lois Godfrey Everett, age 85 of Deepstep, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Deepstep United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Paul Harris, Reverend Larry Giles and Reverend Stan Ballew will officiate. Pall bearers will be Al Andrews, Julian Archer, Adrian Ashley, Troy Black, Allen Everett, Keith Everett, Lee Harris, Wes Hopper, Harris Jolley, Jimmy Ray Smith, Tris Tyson, and Cale Veal.
Lois was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Euree and Mattie Lee Godfrey. She was born in Oconee, Georgia and graduated from high school there. She began working at J.P. Steven’s Woolen Mill in Dublin, Georgia. On June 29, 1957, she married Roy B. Everett, Jr. and moved to Deepstep, Georgia. She received her cosmetology license and worked for many years at the former Ideal Beauty Shop in Sandersville. She opened her own business in Deepstep, Lois’ Style Shop, which was in operation for over twenty years until her retirement. Lois was a great homemaker and was known as a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She also possessed a great love of flowers and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of Deepstep United Methodist Church. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Roy B. Everett Jr., brother, Earl Godfrey, daughter- in- law, Allison Everett, sister-in-law, Corilla Weaver, and brother-in-law, Ostell Everett.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Jolley and her husband Tommy of Deepstep, Ken Everett of Milledgeville, Bruce Everett of Deepstep, and Stacy Everett and his wife Tammy of Deepstep; grandchildren, Brad Jolley of Deepstep, Brittany Archer and her husband Ben of Milledgeville, Sara Everett and Kacey Everett of Gray, Austin Everett of Warner Robins and Kinsley Everett of Deepstep; great grandchildren, Hudson Archer, Bradley Everett, Sadie Mack, Beckham Everett, and Jaxon Dove; and beloved in-laws, Eva Dell Everett, Joan and Lamar Everett, Ethel and Donald Ashley and Betty and Lester Everett; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
When asked what she wanted to be remembered for, she said as a faithful and loving wife and for the love of her children.
The family will be at the Everett residence on Old Eighty-Five Road in Deepstep and will receive friends on Friday from 4:00-6:00 pm at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville,
