Lucious Jennings Strickland

Mr. Lucious Jennings Strickland, Jr., age 81, of 9358 Highway 242 in Riddleville died Sunday July 17, 2011 in the Heritage Inn of Sandersville following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Bristol, Georgia at a date and time to be announced.

Mr. Strickland was a native of Wayne County, Georgia, the son of the late Lucious Jennings Strickland, Sr. and the late Amy Reddish Strickland. He was an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force. Mr. Strickland was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Mary J. Cabe of Riddleville, Amy Whitley of Georgetown, KY and Lucious J. Strickland III of Riddleville, three grandchildren, Elizabeth Whitley, Michael Edwards II and Emma Edwards Mullis, a sister, Jeanne Jenkins of Brunswick, two brothers, William Strickland, Sr. of Keystone Heights, FL. and Errol Strickland of Waycross.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1944 Piney Grove Road, Bristol, Georgia 31518.
