Lucy Blount James

Mrs. Lucy Amanda Blount James, age 84, of Sandersville, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Gibson Health and Rehab Center in Gibson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. Wade Dawson and Rev. Larry Glover will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jackson, William James, Dennis Meeks, Daniel Meeks, Mathew Woodard and Chris Woodard.

Mrs. James was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Hamp Blount and the late Martha Tanner Blount. She was a homemaker and a member of the Tennille Christian Church.
Mrs. James is predeceased by her husband Herbert B. James.

Survivors are her sons, Jerry A. James of Harrison, Jessie James of Tennille and William B. James of Meeks, her daughter Janet J. Jackson of Riddleville, grandchildren, Judy J. Woodard, Kenneth Jackson, William James, Dennis Meeks and Daniel Meeks, great grandchildren Matthew Woodard and Amanda Woodard and her brother Tom Blount.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 6pm at the May and Smith Funeral Directors, 1119 Riddleville Road, Sandersville.
