Lucy Hodges Thompson

Mrs. Lucy Hodges Thompson, age 89, of Columbus, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Hospice of Columbus. Graveside funeral services will be on Saturday, September 11th at 11:00am at the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Rev. Donald Youmans will officiate.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Robert T. Hodges and the late Mary Gilmore Hodges. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morningside Baptist Church of Columbus. She was an avid bridge player and golfer and a member of the D.A.R. Mrs. Thompson’s husband Leroy Bailey Thompson Jr., her brother, H. Hughes Hodges and her sister Martha H. Padgett all predecease her.

Survivors are; her daughters, Ginny T. Lovett (Tommy) of Sebring Fl., and Judy T. Abare of Columbus, grandchildren, Kim Abare Jr. (Julie) of Smyrna, Tommy Lovett Jr., (Lisa) and Jodi L. Baker (Tim) all of Sebring Fl., and Mandy L. Little (Eddie) of Trenton OH., ten great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Betty P. Hodges of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends Saturday at the service.
