Luthell Otha Braddy, age 93, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017.
Mr. Braddy was born in Laurens County on December 26, 1923 to the late Leonard Owen Braddy and the late Ellen Perdue Braddy. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 3 rd Infantry Regime during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dublin and retired from Superior Laundry, where he worked as plant manager.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hitson Braddy; son, Gary Lee Braddy; four sisters, and four brothers, two who were killed in action during World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Cynthia McIntosh (Daryl), of Pelham, AL and Ellen Smith (A.W.), of Sandersville; grandchildren, Brian McIntosh (Courtney), of Tuscaloosa, AL, Kristen Brumbeloe (Daniel), of Pelham, AL, and Cory Smith, of Atlanta; great-grandson, Knox Brumbeloe, of Pelham, AL; great-granddaughter, Sloane Marie Brumbeloe, both of Pelham, AL and caretakers, Betty Stanley, and Eula Linder, both of Dublin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, July 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Dr. Phil Griffith and Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate.
Pallbearers will be John Daniels, Joe Hooks, Ben Hitson, Greg Hitson, Ralph Kelly, Brian McIntosh, Cole Miller, and Cory Smith.
