Mrs. Mable Duggan Turner, age 94, of Club Forest Drive, Tennille, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, surround by her family following an extended illness. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Zeta Cemetery. Reverend Mark Jones will officiate. Pallbearers will be Butch Sullivan, David Chalker, Don Roberson, Mack Henry and Blake Henry. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turner was born and reared in Davisboro, the daughter of the late T.J. Duggan and the late Callie Bell Logue Duggan. She graduated high school and began her working career as a phone operator for Southern Bell in Macon. Mrs. Tuner retired as a customer representative with AT&T. She was a long-time member of Tennille Baptist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school and participated in the church WMU. Mrs. Turner was an avid gardener, and her yard was home to over 1100 azaleas that she lovingly cared for. She was a former member of the Tennille Garden Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner is predeceased by her husband, of over 50 years, Bennie Frank Turner and her sister, Tommie D. Chalker Elton.
Survivors include her daughter, Jayne Turner Jones and her husband Danny of Tennille; grandchildren, Kasey J. Henry and her husband Mack of Gray and Adam Jones and his wife Nikki of Eatonton; great grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, MacKenzie Thomas, Raylee Henry, Blake Henry, Addison Jones, Aiden Jones and Avery Jones; and siblings, John Duggan and his wife Barbara of Tennille and Callie D. Sullivan and her husband Butch of Sandersville.
