Machelle Phillips Smith

Mrs. Machelle Phillips Smith, age 42, of Sandersville died on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, in a Dublin hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 2, in the Temple of Praise in Sandersville. Burial will be private. Reverend Wallace Smith will officiate.

Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Richard Bruce Phillips, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple of Praise. Mrs. Smith was a lover of animals and a member of the Association Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Survivors are: her husband, Alan Smith of Sandersville; a son, Michael Shawn Maddox and his wife Amber Nicole of Rentz; her mother, Angela M. Blue and her husband William of Wrightsville; her grandmother, Virginia Walden and her husband Randy of Sandersville; four sisters, Shannon Denise Knowles and her husband John of Tennille, Haley Victoria Craft and her husband West of Thomaston, Lynn Pool and her husband Caleb of Wrightsville, and Wendi Graybill and her husband Ed of Wrightsville; two brothers, Richard Bruce Phillips, Jr. of Thomaston and William Harris Blue, Jr. and his wife Lee of Wrightsville.

The family will receive friends at the Temple of Praise from 1:00 P.M. Saturday until the hour of service.

The family suggest donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or to their local animal shelter.
