Mack Alan Boatright Sr.

Mr. Mack Alan Boatright, Sr., age 74, of Channell Road, Tennille, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in an Augusta Hospital.  A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 5 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.  Pallbearers will be Bill Butler Jr., Colby Butler, Derek Boatright, Will Durden, Joey Brantley and Darrell Lanier.  The family will greet friends on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Mack was born and reared in Tennille, where he attended school and graduated from Washington County High School.  As a child, Mack was always mechanically inclined, taking things apart and putting them back together. While in high school, he began a 38 plus year career as John Deere tractor mechanic with Ouzts Tractor Company followed by Dixon - Meeks Tractor Company.  Later he worked as a mechanic for the Washington County Commissioners in the Road Department.  In spare time, Mack enjoyed doing mechanic work for family and friends Traveling and camping was one of his favorite things to do.  Mack loved talking and educating people about the LVAD, a medical device he possessed that allowed him to live.  He is predeceased by his parents, Ted Maynard Boatright and Hilda Scarbrough Boatright and siblings, Ted M. Boatright Jr. and Linda B. Butler.

Survivors include his wife Mary Smith Boatright of Tennille; his sons, Jason Boatright and his wife Rachel, Mack Alan Boatright Jr. and his wife Iries and Christopher Boatright all of Tennille; grandchildren, Hannah Garner and her husband Landon, Will Durden, Alyssa Boatright, Ryan Boatright, and Ethan Boatright; and sister-in-law Ellen Boatright and brother-in-law Bill Butler Sr.
