Mrs. Madolene Smith Cook, age 87, of Chandler Street, Tennille, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd at 2:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate.
Mrs. Cook was born in Johnson County the daughter of the late George Smith and the late Lille Crabb Smith. She worked for the Washington Manufacturing Company and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cook was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and loved gardening and flowers. She is predeceased by her husband James Wilson Cook Jr.
Survivors are her daughters Jean C. Howard of Greenville, SC., Sandra C. Jackson (Wayne) of Riddleville and Gayle C. Newton (Mike) of Milledgeville, grandchildren, LaRue Howard, Mike Jackson (Angel), Terry Jackson and Michelle N. Teets (Dan) and great grandchildren, Cassi Jackson and Zayne Jackson.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
