Mrs. Mae Smith Prosser, age 97, of Davisboro, died on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 11 at Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend George W. Smith will officiate.
Mrs. Prosser was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Fletcher Valentine Smith and the late Ethel Myers Smith. She was the wife of the late James Benion Prosser. She was predeceased in death by a sister, Johnnie Smith Brantley. Mrs. Prosser was the co-owner of Prosser's Grocery Store in Davisboro. She was a member of Sisters Baptist Church and was the leader of the children's department for many years.
Survivors are her son, James Benion Prosser, Jr. and his wife Eve of Davisboro; daughter, Mary Anne Prosser of Davisboro; grandson, James Eugene Prosser and his wife Rose Marie of Davisboro; great grandsons, James Tyler Prosser and William Kyle Prosser; brother, George W. Smith and his wife Carolyn of Elizabethton, Kentucky.
The family suggest donations be made to Sisters Baptist Church Children's Department, 1807 E. McCarty Street, Sandersville, Ga. 31082.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon on Monday.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
