Mrs. Mamie Lou Garrett, age 100, of Riddleville died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in the Washington Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday,
November 22, in the Riddleville Baptist Church with interment in the Riddleville Cemetery.
Rev. Wade Dawson and Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Billy Brantley, Jimmy Smith, Carlton Lindsey, Gene Campbell, Bill Garrett, and Brock McNeely.

Mrs. Garrett was a native of Washington County, Georgia the daughter of the late Julia Paradise Jernigan and William S. Jernigan. She was predeceased by her husband, Julian Eugene Garrett and son, Edd E. Garrett, Sr. She was a former employee of the Margaret Holmes Canning Company and
the Union Dry Goods store. Mrs. Garrett was a homemaker well known for her delicious pound cakes. She was a member of the Riddleville Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Union and she was a former Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include a son; Joe J. (Cynthia) Garrett of Riddleville, grandchildren; Lisa (Bill) Laube,
New Jersey, Melanie (Edward Kay) Garrett, London, England, Matt (Brenda) Garrett, Savannah,
Susan (Russ) Tanner, Tennille, Jay (Danielle) Garrett, Riddleville, and Allen (Miran) Garrett, Kennesaw, great grandchildren; Taylor Tanner and Cassidy Tanner both of Tennille.

The Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the May & Smith Funeral Home, 1119 Riddleville Road, Sandersville, Georgia.
