Mrs. Margaret Renfroe Brown, age 84, of E. McCarty Street in Sandersville, died Wednesday, January 13, 2009 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16th at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Marlon Lastinger and Rev. Lee Lacey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Frank Young Jr., William Young, Bobby Renfroe, Tim Renfroe, Mike Renfroe, Nicholas Burgamy, Cyle Brown and Austin Dickens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the LLL Sunday School Class at First Baptist.
Mrs. Brown was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Johnny Renfroe Sr. and the late
Pauline Poole Renfroe. She was a homemaker and former co-owner of Brown’s Standard Station in Sandersville. Mrs. Brown also worked for the Washington County Probate Court. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville where she was a member and former secretary/treasurer of the LLL Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brown in predeceased by her husband Julius Attis Brown and her son Donald R. “Duck” Brown.
Survivors are her sons, William L. Brown (Cecille), Julius Tommy Brown, and David E. Brown (Connie) all of Sandersville, grandchildren Robert Brown, Rebecca Brown, Katy B. Sweat, Lynn B. Dickens, Cyle Brown and Cera Brown, four great grandchildren and her brother Johnny Renfroe Jr., (Ann) also of Sandersville.
The family will be at the Brown residence 722 E. McCarty Street in Sandersville and will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
