Margaret Fahey

Mrs. Margaret Fahey, age 76 of Sandersville passed away on Thursday, June 17 at her residence following an extended illness. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Fahey’s life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Sandersville Community Church. Reverend Scott Ferguson will officiate.

Mrs. Fahey was born in Atlanta to the late Oscar Bennett and the late Vivian Timms Bennett. Mrs. Fahey spent several years as a receptionist. She enjoyed spending her free time crocheting or cooking. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Fahey married her husband of 55 years and the two spent a few years residing in Mr. Fahey’s hometown in New York before they moved back to her home state of Georgia, where they reared their four daughters. Mrs. Fahey is preceded in death by her bother, Harold Bennett.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fahey is survived by her daughters, Margaret “Vicky” Elton (Raymond) of Tennille, Karen Gail Fahey of Sandersville, Kelly Kathleen Sewell (Bill) of Mansfield, and Jennifer Ann Smith (Eric) of Sandersville; grandchildren, Tyler Elton, Timothy Kevin Newborn, Breanna Eubanks, Joshua Elton, David Elton, Carly Green, Tristan Sewell, and Skylar Sewell; great grandchildren, Kendall Newborn, R.J. Elton, Riley Elton, Annabella Rawley, Darrell “Trey” Green, Timothy Kyle Newborn, and a new arrival due in July; and brother, Charles Bennett of Wisconsin.
