Margaret Johnson Lindsey

Mrs. Margaret Johnson Lindsey, age 87, of Tennille died Saturday night, September 12, 2015, in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville following an extended illness.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.

Mrs. Lindsey was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Alton Johnson and the late Nettie Yarbough Johnson. She was the wife of the late Walter Lee Lindsey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Johnson. Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker and a retired accountant for the Washington County Department of Family and Children Services. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Survivors are: a daughter, Louise L. Jones and her husband Jimmy of Sandersville; a son, Bobby Lindsey of Tennille; three grandchildren, Brad Jones of Atlanta, Terri Jones Dawson and her husband Jonathan of Sandersville and Zach Lindsey of Tennille; a great grandson, Logan Dawson; a sister, Betty Hitchcock of Tennille.

The family suggest donations be made to the Extended Care Facility Garden Project, c/o Richard Lindsey, P. O. Box 636, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
