Margie Taylor

Margie Taylor, age 81, of Statham, GA, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013. She was a member of Statham First Baptist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star 316 in Statham. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James “Dee” Holliman Taylor; her parents, Harrison and Rose Wheeler Savage; four brothers, Milton, Dorsey, Gaston, and Ralph Savage; and three sisters, Wilmont Savage, Dot Ferguson, and Reece McCarty. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike (Vickie) Taylor of Dublin, GA and Mitch (Angie) Taylor of Statham; a sister, Bea McDonald of Statham; three grandchildren, Terri Brantley, Jami Lee Taylor, and Harli Taylor; and one great-granddaughter, Cierra Brantley. The funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder. Reverend Ned Davis officiated the service. The interment followed the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Statham First Baptist Church, 1914 Broad Street, Statham, GA 30666. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
