Maria Bernardina Escamilla

Mrs. Maria Bernardina Escamilla, age 52. of Davisboro died on Monday, May 31, 2021 in an Augusta hospital.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Saturday, June 5, in the Chapel of May and Smith Funeral Home, with Father Patrick Otor officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Escamilla was a native of Mexico but resided in Davisboro.  She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Wrens. She is the daughter of the late Daniel Escamillla Capiz and the late Maria de la luz Escamilla Torres Martinez.

Mrs. Escamilla is the wife of Gumersindo Bautista Mendez.  She is the mother of Juan D. Hernandez (Lori) of Davisboro, Maria Hernandez (Max Reyes) of Davisboro, Yezenia Lopez (Carlos) of Metter and Lizet Hernandez (Kevin Rodriquez of Davisboro, grandchildren, Eric Reyes, Diana Reyes, Elias Reyes and Mark Hernandez.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
