Marie Powell

Ms. Marie Powell, age 87, of Sandersville, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, May 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend M.D. Cabe will officiate.

Ms. Powell was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Roy J. Powell and the late Sara Ethel May Powell. She was preceded in death by her a sister, Jacquelyn P. Veal, and a brother, Roy Virgil Powell. Ms. Powell was a long time resident of New Orleans where she was the office manager for Avis Rental Cars. She retired to Dublin in 1995 where she was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and also active as a member of the Daughters of the King. Ms. Powell served as a Pink Lady at the Fairview Park Hospital.

Survivors include; her sisters Mary Ellen P. Davis and Judy P. Frost both of Sandersville; a godson, Jonathan Spradley; and many nieces and nephews including her niece and caregiver Lynn Woodall of Tennille.

The family will be at the residence of Lynn and Chuck Woodall on Club Forrest Drive and they will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
