Ms. Marion Waller, age 90 of Tennille, passed away at her residence following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Bobby Williford will officiate. The pallbearers will be Michael Barnes, Bennett Barnes, Matthew Barnes, Brandon Yates, Brian Lewis, and Ben Davis. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Ms. Waller was born in Sandersville and raised in the Tabernacle community. She was the daughter of the late Tillman Waller and the late Zelam Brantley Waller. Ms. Waller was a hard and dedicated worker, spending most of her working career as a seamstress and retiring from Forsman’s Manufacturing after 32 years. She loved to collect cookbooks and could make excellent lacy cornbread. Ms. Waller also enjoyed fishing, and dancing. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Ms. Waller is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Davis, C.T. Waller, and Franklin Waller.
Ms. Waller is survived by her son, Mike Barnes and his wife Jessica of Tennille; granddaughters, Amanda Lewis and her husband Brian and Seirra Barnes, both of Sandersville; grandsons, Michael Barnes and his wife April of Warthen, Bennett Barns and his wife Mary, and Matthew Barnes (Amber McCoy), both of Sandersville; 14 grandchildren; sister, Rubye Mobley of Sandersville; and many nieces and nephews.
