Marjorie P. Boyd

Ms. Marjorie Elizabeth (Poss) Boyd, age 84, of Harlem, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church on Friday, July 10th at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mike Sutphin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of service at the church. Marjorie will be laid to rest at Sparta Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Kermit Franklin Poss and Marjorie Evelyn (Bryant) Smith, Marjorie, known as Margie or Punky to her friends, was born in Sparta, Georgia and graduated from Dearing High School. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was also a dedicated civil service employee for 40 years with Fort Gordon United States Army Installation in Augusta, Georgia. During her lifetime, she enjoyed fishing, traveling, and time with family. She was also an avid reader and lover of crossword puzzles.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Crystal Kitchens (Jim) of Sandersville, Kevin Boyd, and Christopher Boyd (Dianne) of West Jordan, Utah; her grandchildren, Lillian Kelly, April Kelly, and Morgan Mullis (Devin), as well as her great grandchildren, Bailie, Waylon, Madison, Ramsey, and Albree. She is also survived by her sister, Dale Woods and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Charlene Pool.
