Mrs. Marsha Lindsey Rountree, age 73 of North Lake Drive in Sandersville, passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 15, 2026, following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene, with burial following in Brownwood Cemetery. Reverend Joe Crosby and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Rountree, Dan Rountree, Troy Lindsey, Jeremy Lindsey, Kevin Lindsey, and Chase Lindsey. The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marsha was a lifelong resident of Sandersville, the daughter of the late Odell Lindsey and the late Eudell Johnson Lindsey. She attended Washington County Public Schools graduating from Washington County High School Class of 1970. Marsha began her working career as a seamstress for the Studdard Shirt Factory. She was a homemaker while her children were young, prior of working again as a seamstress for the Fabric Shop and as retail sales associate for Moore's Department Store. Marsha possessed a love for children and worked as a paraprofessional at Sandersville Elementary School and Ridge Road Elementary and Primary Schools. She had heart for children who were in need and loved working with children in special education. Marsha was a lifelong member of Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for family and friends. One of her favorited pastimes was fishing, especially with her husband Paul. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Odell Lindsey, Jr. and Thomas Eugene “Greenweenie” Lindsey.
Mrs. Rountree is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Rountree; daughters, Kelli Meeks (Ray) of Helena, and Paula Farmer (Dean) of Tennille; granddaughter, Paige Foster (Kody); great grandchildren, Mikah, Axton, and Hensley; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Marsha’s memory to Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 801, Sandersville, GA 31082.
