Mr. Marshall Lyman Burgamy, age 86, of Warthen, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. A family only graveside committal service will be held in the Burgamy Family Cemetery, in Warthen. 

Mr. Burgamy, known by many as "M.L." and by family as "Mokie", was born on August 10, 1939, son of the late Marshall Lee Burgamy and the late Clara Bernice Sheppard Burgamy. He was a lifetime resident of Warthen, where he was reared on his family's farm and attended Warthen School. Following graduating from Sandersville High School, M.L. enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country overseas in Turkey during the Viet Nam Conflict. He obtained mechanical and driving skills while in the military and used those throughout his working career. Upon returning home following his military service, M.L. worked as a professional driver for Sandersville Coca Cola Bottling Company, Sandersville Railroad, Washington County Board of Education and lastly the Washington County Road Department, from which he retired. He was an avid gun collector and marksman. He possessed a great deal of "gun knowledge" and was a talented gunsmith. M.L. treasured the outdoors and hunting, often cooking what he acquired on his hunts. One of his greatest passions was classic cars. He loved working and improving his Ford Thunderbirds and Mustangs. In addition to his parents, M.L. is also predeceased by a son, Marshall Lyman Burgamy Jr. and his sister, Carole Margaret Burgamy Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nancy Lee Purvis Burgamy and his daughter, Rhonda Angelique Burgamy, both of Warthen and siblings, Cheryl Belle Burgamy of Warthen and Barry Lee Burgamy and his wife Linda of Charleston, S.C.
