Martha Taylor Garrett

October 24, 1915 — May 15, 2011

Mrs. Martha McNeely Taylor Garrett, age 95, of Davisboro, died Sunday morning, May 15, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, at 11:00am at the Davisboro Baptist Church with burial in the Davisboro City Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Glover will officiate. Pallbearers will be her nephews; Michael McNeely, Neil Sapp, Steve Sapp, Gary Dixon, Bobby Williams, Buddy Mosley, Randy Mosley, and Tommy Dukes.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Jefferson County the daughter of the late Lewis Neal McNeely and the late Frances Blanchard McNeely. She was a homemaker and also a beautician. Mrs. Garrett was a faithful member of the Davisboro Baptist Church for over 65 years. She served her church as a former beginners Sunday school teacher, bible school volunteer and a member of the church Women’s Missionary Union. Mrs. Garrett is predeceased by her husbands T. Raborn Taylor Sr. and L.A. Garrett.

Mrs. Garrett was affectionally called “Nenaw” by her family and she is survived by her children, Rosemary T. Smith (Larry) of Sandersville, Betty T. Sopp (Bill) of Milledgeville, Ray Taylor (Connie) and Jane T. Randall (Paul) all of Davisboro, grandchildren, Clark Moye (Denise) of Eatonton, Tiffany M. Prince (Jason) of Sandersville, Beth Griffith (Powell) of Eatonton, Jeffery Smith (Kelli) of Sandersville, Jimmy Prance (Robin) of Houschton, Steven Prance (Rebecca) of Eatonton, Brian Sopp (Nicole) of Newnan, Raborn Taylor III of Buckhead, Jason Dye (Kelli) of Harrison, Josh Dye (Brittany) of Marshalltown Iowa, Taylor Withrow of Dublin, Blake Withrow of Harrison, Jeremy Withrow (Jessica) of Tennille, Jennifer Cullens (J.J.) of Macon, Sarah Doredant of Macon and Josh Randall (Fernie) of Miami Florida, 22 great grandchildren and her sister Lula M. Sapp of Statesboro.

The family will be at the Taylor residence, 2933 Heards Bridge Road, in Davisboro and they will receive friends on Monday, May 16th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
