Martha Veal Helton

Mrs. Martha Veal Helton, age 90, of Deepstep, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019, following an extended illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, at 2:00p.m., April 28 ^th at Deepstep United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Larry Giles will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Michael Harris, Matthew Harris, Thomas Harris, Mike Abbott, Bruce Pittman and Daniel Harris.

Mrs. Helton was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late J. Wright Veal and the late Fannie Ruth Martin Veal.  She moved to Atlanta in 1946 and began a career with C & S Bank from which she retired after 36 years of service.  Mrs. Helton retired home to Deepstep where she was a member of Deepstep United Methodist Church.   She is predeceased by her husbands, W.T. Carter and Ernest Helton and her sister, Grace V. Harris.

Survivors include her sisters, Ann V. Pittman of Albany and Mary V. Andrews of Deepstep; and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service in the Social Hall of Deepstep UMC and also following the service at graveside.
