Martha Jackson Sanders

Mrs. Martha Jackson Sanders, age 76, of 1189 Riddleville Road in Sandersville died Monday January 19 at the residence of her daughter in Harrison following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Sandersville with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Pallbearers will be Rusty Sanders, Thomas Godfrey, Eric Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Falcon Biggins and Roy Davis.

Mrs. Sanders was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Adolfus Jackson and the late Mary Lou Godfrey Jackson. She was the wife of the late Jimmie Lee Sanders, Sr.. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville. Mrs. Sanders was a beautician and the retired owner of Martha’s Hair Studio.

Survivors are her children, Patsy Sanders (Larry) Thompson of Harrison, Sherry Sanders (Randy) Peavy of Sandersville, Russell D. (Sara) Sanders of Sandersville, Jimmie Lee Sanders, Jr. of Sandersville and Karen Sanders (Matt) Thurman of Orlando, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.
