Martha Lynn Shurling

Mrs. Martha Lynn Shurling, age 84, of Sandersville, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Washington Co. ECF following an extended illness. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022at Zeta Cemetery. Coy Hollingshead and Reverend Scott Mathews will officiate.

Mrs. Shurling was born in Davisboro, Georgia, the daughter of the late Kenneth McNeely, Sr. and Willie Jernigan McNeely. She graduated from Sandersville High School prior to beginning a lifetime career as a bookkeeper at Central packing Company and Childre Chevrolet.  She was a longtime member of Ohoopee Baptist Church serving many roles. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-seven years, Charles Shurling; siblings, Brock McNeely, Jane M Woodard, Kenneth McNeely, Earl McNeely, and Lois Glover.

Mrs. Shurling is survived by her daughters, Kim Seals and her husband Greg of Milledgeville and Judy Shurling of Tennille; grandchildren, Danielle Hollinshead and her husband Coy of Milledgeville, Keith Rhodes and his wife Whitney of Sandersville and Matthew Tanner and his wife Alyson; great grandchildren, Sadie, Scout, and Flint Hollinshead, Harry, Sheppard, and Beau Rhodes and Abi, Adam, and Avery Tanner.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
