Martha Nell Tanner

Mrs. Martha Nell Baugus Tanner, age 87, of Sandersville passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Washington County Extended Care Facility. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Sandersville Community Church with Reverend Scott Ferguson and Reverend Danny Thomas officiating.

Mrs. Tanner was born in Taliaferro County, the daughter of the late Jacob C. Baugus, and the late Bertie Mae Edwards Baugus. She spent her life taking care of her children as a homemaker. She is predeceased by her husband, Jerry Tanner; son, Robert Allen Tucker; and brothers, Carlton Baugus, Eugene Baugus, and Edward Baugus.

Mrs. Tanner is survived by her children, Harold Raymond Garner, Jr. of East Dublin, Nancy G. Bryant of Sandersville, Clinton Wesley Garner and his wife Kelly of Naples, Florida, Janice Tucker Kitchens and her husband John of Rosharon, Texas, and Barbara Sue Tucker of Sandersville; several grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will greet friends following the service on Sunday.
