Martina Jones Hodges

Martina Jones Hodges, age 67, of Oconee, died Sunday, March 27, 2016 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Antioch Christian Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Ric Toney and Reverend Tom Howard will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Andy Jones, Clay Brantley, Brad Jones, Ben Amerson, Tim Haynes, Mike Stanley, Jeremy Jones, and Thomas Harris.

Mrs. Hodges was a native of Washington County the daughter of the late Ray Gilmore Jones and the late Grace Tanner Jones. She retired as the Vice President of Business Planning after a 35 year career at Thiele Kaolin Company. Most of her career was spent in the Sales Department where she was the Vice President of Sales and travelled internationally frequently. She was an active member of Antioch Christian Church where she served as choir director, Sunday School teacher, member of the Ladies Council, and various other committees.

Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Upshaw.

Survivors include: her husband, Herbert Hodges of Oconee; her children, Chris Hodges and his wife Alecia of Oconee, Grace Hodges Moore and her husband Roger of Greensboro; grandchildren, Hannah and Cole Hodges of Oconee, Wilson, Lawson and Elizabeth Moore of Greensboro; sisters, Jeannette Snider and Linda McDaniel both of Sandersville; brothers, Warren Jones of Greensboro, Wilbur Jones and Jimmy Jones of Sandersville, and Danny Jones of Warthen; and a special family friend, Helen Brookins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
