Mary Frances Brett

Mrs. Mary Frances Brett, age 80, of Sandersville died Saturday, June 11th, 2011 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 14th, in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate.

Mrs. Brett was a native of Johnson County, the daughter of the late George N. Barfield, Sr. and the late Annie Mary Sweat Barfield. She was the wife of the late Otis Brett, Sr.. Mrs. Brett had been employed by Carter’s Manufacturing Company and Royal Manufacturing Company as a seamstress and she was also a homemaker. She was a member of Jackson’s Baptist Church.

Survivors are three sons, Otis Brett, Jr. and his wife Donna of Tennille, Randy Gene Brett and his wife Vicki of Tennille, and Dan Olin Brett and his wife Renee of Sandersville; a daughter, Ann Segars of Camden, SC; a brother, George N. Barfield, Jr. of Sandersville; six grandchildren, Debby Brett, Randy Jason Brett, Jennifer Thigpen, Al Segars III, Jeff Segars and Paul Segars; 10 great-grandchildren, Makayla, T. J., Lexie, Thomas, Otis, Kristen, Keith, Reid, Hannah and Matthew.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
