Mary Brown Cochran

Mrs. Mary Brown Cochran, age 90, of 31 Spring Lake Road in Oconee died Friday morning April 24 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday April 27 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Rutherford Cemetery near Oconee. Rev. Johnny Anderson and Rev. Emory Lindsey and Rev. Lamar Brantley will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Brown, Edward Wiggins, Aubrey Wiggins, Buddy Garner, Lester Godfrey, Jeff Price, Glynn Brantley and Ray Brantley.

Mrs. Cochran was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Lorine Brown and the late Celeste Flower Brown. She was the wife of the late Henry Cochran. Mrs. Cochran was a retired health care provider for Oconee Nursing Home and a homemaker. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors are her children, Nadine (S.M.) Watkins of Riddleville and Nancy (Carl) Fenske of New Orleans, grandchildren, Russell (Deborah) Meeks, Neil (Becky) Meeks, Eric (Kris) Fenske, Joel Cochran(Amy) and Joanna Poole(Casey), eight great grandchildren and a great great grandchild, a sister in law, Jean Brown.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday evening.

The family has requested donations in Mrs. Cochran’s memory to the Oconee Fire Department in care of Mr. Andy Brantley.
