Mary Johnson Mcneely

Mrs. Mary Johnson McNeely, age 87, of Davisboro, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18th, at 2:00pm at the Davisboro United Methodist Church with burial in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Rev. Derek McLear and Rev. Chad Watkins will officiate. Pallbearers will be members of the Davisboro Fire Department.

Mrs. McNeely was born in St. Lawrence County NY. the daughter of the late Truelove Johnson and the late Effie Burgess Johnson. She worked for Barker and Associates as a bookkeeper and formerly worked for Moye’s Insurance Agency and Central Packing Company. Mrs. McNeely was a member of the Davisboro United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s group. She was also a charter member of the Davisboro Fire Departement Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. McNeely was a US Army Veteran serving as a Staff Sergeant during WWII. She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Randolph McNeely Jr.

Survivors are her son, Kenneth R. “Randy” McNeely III (Laura) of Davisboro, grandchildren Joshua Randy McNeely, Maranda M. Ganas (Rick) and Hurley Marie McNeely, and great grandchildren William Ganas and Caitlyn Irene Ganas.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
