Mary Lillian Sanders

Mrs. Mary Lillian Flury Sanders, age 81, of Anderson, South Carolina, formerly of Washington County, died Friday May 27 in Anderson.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday May 30 in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sandersville. The Rev. Lamar Brantley will officiate.

Mrs. Sanders was a native of Hancock County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Jewell Flury and the late Mary Holloway Flury. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ras Sanders, two sons, Robert Sanders and Jerry Sanders, a daughter, Nancy Sue Wood and a sister, Ruby Arrington. Mrs. Sanders had previously resided in Ivey, Georgia and was a member of the Ivey Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had a children’s nursery in her home. Mrs. Sanders loved flowers and was an avid gardener.

Survivors are two daughters, Lora Roberts of Anderson, SC and Shirley Brown and her husband Shaler of Sandersville, two sisters, Roberta Adams and her husband Oscar of Milledgeville and Betty Beck of Sandersville, three brothers, Larry Flury and his wife Margie of Sherman Oaks, Cal. , Earl Flury of Los Angeles and Dennis Flury of Sparta, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 11:00 until 12:00 noon on Monday May 30.
