Mary Urquhart Smith

Mrs. Mary Urquhart Smith, age 92, of 315 Gilwood Street in Tennille died Monday December 19, 2011 in Murphy, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22nd, in the Tennille Baptist Church. Rev. Darell Young, Rev. Andy Yates and Rev. Andy Carter will officiate with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Meriwether County, the daughter of the late David W. Urquhart and the late Laura Frances Simms Urquhart. She was the wife of the late Billy S. Smith. She was a homemaker and a retired salesperson for B. C. Moore. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Betty Jean Johnson of Murphy, NC, two grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Wilburn of California and Jacob N. Johnson of Murphy, NC, two great-grandchildren, Hope Wilburn and Sarah Wilburn.

The family will receive friends at the Tennille Baptist Church from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Thursday.
