Matthew W Pierson

Pastor Matthew W. Pierson, age 81, of Davisboro passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at United Faith Ministries at 2:00 p.m. Pastor David Braswell and Mrs. Sandra Yates will officiate. The burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Pastor Pierson was born in Greene, New York, the son of the late Leroy Lindsey Person and the late Frieda Elizabeth Leonard Pierson. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington County High School. Matthew was extremely talented and ingenious, especially when it concerned working with his hands with wood or metal. He loved spending time in his shop on various restoration projects. His greatest passion in life was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever he went. He and his loving wife of 62 years, Paulette, partnered together to bring the message of Jesus to all those they met. Together they helped plant and establish Untied Faith Ministries in Davisboro as a church that sought to meet the needs of people, and be a ministry motivated by love. Matthew did his best to see as Jesus did and always wanted to help others.

Pastor Pierson is survived by his wife, Paulette Lord Pierson; sisters, Sylvia Cobb Glover and her husband Harry of Milledgeville, and Cynthia Layton and her husband Benjamin of Riddleville; numerous nieces and nephews; and the faithful members of United Faith Ministries.
