Melvin Gerry Brantley

Mr. Gerry Brantley, age 72, of East Dublin, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 following a brief illness.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, December 19 ^th , 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.  Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Melvin Gerry Brantley was born in Sandersville on September 4, 1950 to the late Jesse Melvin Brantley and the late Hazel Hill Brantley.  He was reared in Harrison, where he attended school.  Gerry graduated from Georgia Military College High School.  He entered his family business and worked with his father at J.M. Brantley Wood Company, which he would later own and operate. Gerry cherished his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. One of his greatest joys was going out to eat with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Kelly B. Sanders, and her husband Kevin, of Toccoa, Melvin Gerry "Bubba" Brantley Jr., and his wife Sheryl, of Statesboro, Kimberly B. Baucom, and her husband Dwaine, of Linton, and Patrick Neil Brantley, and his wife Jenny, of Harrison; grandchildren, Easton Sanders, Khloe Sanders, Brayden Brantley, Aubrey Brantley, Ella Baucom, Wyatt Baucom, Colten Brantley, and Kinsley Brantley; and sisters, Eleanor B. Schwartz, of Birmingham, AL., Kaye Brantley, of Jacksonville, NC., Janice B. Robertson, of Dublin, and Carol B. Webb, and her husband Allan, of Beaufort, SC.
