Mr. Michael Glenn Boatright, age 70, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, at 2:00 p.m., in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille with military honors. Reverend Andy Carter will officiate. Mike's family will receive friends at graveside.
Mike was reared in Wrens, where he graduated from Wrens High School. He enlisted in the US Navy where he honorably served his country for nine years as a signalman on the USS O'Bannon. Following his military service, Mike worked as an auto service technician with Sears in Augusta. He studied microcomputers at Augusta Technical College. Mike had a long-time love of flying as worked on his private pilot's license. He loved participating in the TWA computer flying program. Mike played golf and loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting, especially on the river. He attended Olive Hill Baptist Church. Mike is predeceased by his parents, Harvey Voss Boatright and Sara Ruth Hodges Boatright, his brothers, Ronald Boatright and Robert Boatright and a loyal cousin Patricia Chapman Garner.
Survivors include his care giving cousins, David M. Chapman, Ted L. Chapman, Henry C. Chapman, Tricia Huff and other extended family; nephews and nieces, Daniel Boatright, Adam Boatright and Sherri Boatright.
